Did You Know?

Random Collection of Useless Facts

1. The TRY in rugby union and rugby league are so called as under the original rules, pressing the ball over the line would allow you to "try" for a conversion.

5. When looking at a statue of some historical figure sitting grandly atop a horse remember this:
  • If the horse has both front legs in the air, the person died in battle
  • If the horse has one front leg in the air, the person died as a result of wounds recieved in battle
  • If the horse has all four legs on the ground, the person died of natural causes

We was robbed!

Like 2.2 million other Australians, I stayed up to watch history with the Socceroos taking on the might of Italy. And like probably 2 million other Australians I was suitably gutted with the result, a somewhat dubious refereeing decision. Whilst it did cost us the match, the Socceroos should have taken advantage of their extra player in the 2nd half. Well done regardless! Now we can get back to watch real sports ;)

Snow in Timaru

My parents were kind enough to call me at 5:45am to tell me that it had dropped about 8" of snow overnight in Timaru. It hasn't snowed in Timaru in 50 years. My rellies were kind enough to send photos.

Brisneyland

Now that you are back in Australia, what are you going to do now? We're going to BrisneyLand!!

If only it were that exciting. Whilst in Wellington, Tammie and I received news that there was jobs for us in Brisbane if we wanted them. So up we came and as it turned out, Tammie's job offer was a little more concrete than mine. Mine was more of a machine man - now you see it, now you don't. As a result Tammie has a job but I am still looking. I can handle being a kept man for a while.

Good news is that we have found an apartment in the city and we are all set up. Except for the lack of furniture.

Vezza in Wellington

After visting my parents for a spell, we head up to Wellington to visit Verity. We thought it just wouldn't be right to cross the ditch and not visit.
